First Dialogue : " At the Customs Office"


A Customs Office asks Ana some questions on her arrival.

Custom´s Officer: Good afternoon! What is your name pleace?

Ana: My name is Ana.

Custom's Officer: And your last name?

Ana: Diaz Rosalez

Custom's Officer: Mmmmmm............. Two last names I see

Ana: Yes, in Venezuela we have got two last name.

Custom's Office: Oh, have you? Interesting! Where exactly do you live Ana?

Ana: I live in Caracas, in Paseo de la Habana 23

Custom's Officer: Do you live with your parents there?

Ana: Yes, I do, Sir. In a flat in thecity center.

Custom's Officer: Where are your parents' names?

Ana: My mum is called Maria and my dad Pedro

Custom's Officer: What ir you father's job?

Ana: My Father is an engineer and my mother is a teacher.

Custom's Officer: What does she teach, Ana?

Ana: She teaches Math in a High School

Custom's Officer: Great! Do you have any brothers or sisters?

Ana: Yes, a younger brother called Fernando. He is only 13

Custom's Officer: How old are you then Ana?

Ana: I am sixteen years old.

Costom's Officer:  Do you study? Do you work?

Ana: I only study.

Custom's Officer: So are you here on holiday or to study?

Ana: I am here on Holiday and to study English as well

Custom's Officer: Do you have family here?

Ana: No, I don't. I will live with an American family.

Custom's Officer: Who are they? Where do they live?

 Ana: There are Mr. and Mrs. O'Hara and they live in California.

Custom's Officer: Do they work?

Ana: Yes, they do. He is a police officer and she is a nurse.

Custom's Officer: How long are you going to stay in the USA?

Ana: Two months.

Custom's Officer: Thanks Ana. That's all. Have a nice stay!
